If the payment deadline falls on a Saturday, the deadline is automatically extended to the next business day, so you can make the payment by the next business day.
However, if urgent customs clearance is needed on a Saturday, payment can be made via internet banking, etc.
Additionally, the substitute holiday system has been in effect since January 1, 2014, according to the revised regulations on public holidays for government offices (Presidential Decree) amended in December 2013.
- If the Lunar New Year holidays (the day before Lunar New Year, Lunar New Year, the day after Lunar New Year), Chuseok holidays (the day before Chuseok, Chuseok, the day after Chuseok) fall on public holidays, and if Children's Day falls on a Saturday or another public holiday, the next non-holiday after the holiday is designated as a substitute holiday.
- If the payment deadline falls on a public holiday or a substitute holiday, the next day becomes the payment deadline according to Article 8, Paragraph 3 of the Customs Act, and payment can be made by that day.
- Even if Labor Day (May 1) is the last day of the payment deadline, since banks are closed, payment can be made by the next banking business day.
