When entering Brazil, separate duty-free limits apply to goods purchased overseas and items purchased at airport duty-free shops.
Duty-Free Limit for Goods Acquired Abroad: Up to **$500 (USD)** per person is allowed.
Airport Duty-Free Purchase Limit: You can additionally purchase goods up to $1,000 at airport duty-free shops.
Scope of Personal Belongings (Special Items): Items such as cameras, laptops/computers, and sports equipment are recognized as personal belongings and can be brought in up to $1,000.
β οΈ Items Not Eligible for Duty-Free Clearance:
Items not eligible for duty-free clearance, such as electronic devices, optical equipment, and luxury goods, can either be stored at customs and taken out upon departure, or imported after paying taxes through a simplified import procedure.
When entering by air or sea transport, the following items are exempt from customs declaration. These items can be brought in without special price limits if intended for personal use.

Customs Inspection: Upon arrival, customs procedures are distinguished by the color of the arrows installed at the customs entrance.
Blue Arrow: Pass without customs inspection
Red Arrow: Customs inspection required (if you have items to declare)
Bringing in Animals and Plants: Plants and pets are only allowed if the departing traveler has a quarantine certificate (including embassy certification).
Undisclosed Items Detected: If dutiable goods are not declared and you proceed through the red arrow, detection may result in seizure and penalties.
