In this case, travelers may utilize the Belongings Deposit System. Items brought in that are not intended for import can be deposited in accordance with Article 206 of the Customs Act, and a Deposit Receipt will be issued.
The following items can only be deposited if deemed appropriate by a customs officer:
High-Risk Travelers: Items belonging to designated high-risk individuals.
Commercial Goods: Items recognized as commercial goods intended for domestic import.
Domestic Residents: Items brought in by residents of the country.
Hazardous/Perishable Items: Hazardous materials or quarantine-targeted agricultural, forestry, livestock, and fishery products at risk of damage or deterioration.
The storage duration is determined based on the type of deposit:
| Category | Storage Period |
| Held Items | 1 month from the date of entry. |
| Deposited Items | 1 month added to the scheduled departure date on the receipt. |
Extensions: The period can be extended by up to one month upon the owner's request or at the discretion of the customs officer.
How to Apply: Submit an "Application for Extension of Storage Period" to the customs officer via mail, fax, or email.
General Rule: A notice for the removal of items will be issued at the end of the storage period.
Exception: This notice may be omitted if the traveler was already notified under Article 207, Paragraph 3 of the Customs Act that items will be sold if not exported, imported, or returned within the designated period.
