On the Quarantine Procedures for Imported Livestock Products Released

The quarantine procedures for imported livestock products as explained by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency are as follows.

1. Verification of Import Cargo Manifest

The shipping company and airline or agent submit the cargo manifest for import cargo in electronic or paper form

2. Onboard & Weather Inspection

3. Unloading and Transportation (Notification of Quarantine Material Transportation)

Transportation to the quarantine facility is carried out in a manner safe for livestock quarantine after prior instructions from the quarantine officer

4. Entry into Quarantine Facility

Container opening status, sensory inspection, physical inspection, etc.

5. Quarantine Application

Submission Documents

- Quarantine application form, B/L, quarantine certificate from the counterpart country, and other reference documents (For import declaration, a livestock product import declaration form must be prepared and submitted)

6. Epidemiological Investigation

Verification of whether the import prohibition area and transit through the import prohibition area

7. Detailed Inspection (Inspection if necessary)

Conduct microbiological, physicochemical, and residue inspections

8. Judgment

Pass: Issuance of quarantine certificate

Fail: Return, incineration, or burial
