The quarantine procedure for imported livestock products as explained by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency is as follows.

1. Confirmation of import cargo manifest

Shipping companies and airlines or agents submit the cargo manifest for import cargo in electronic or paper form

2. Pre-loading and weather inspection

3. Unloading and transportation (notification of quarantine material transportation)

Transportation to the quarantine implementation site is carried out in a safe manner for animal disease prevention after prior instructions from the quarantine officer

4. Entry into quarantine implementation site

Whether to open the container, sensory inspection, physical inspection, etc.

5. Quarantine application

Submission documents

- Quarantine application form, B/L, quarantine certificate from the exporting country, and other reference documents (For import declaration, submit livestock product import declaration form)

6. Epidemiological investigation

Confirmation of whether the import is from or transited through prohibited areas

7. Precision inspection (inspection if necessary)

Conduct microbiological, physicochemical, and residue inspections

8. Determination

Pass: Issuance of quarantine certificate

Fail: Return, incineration, or burial
